Hell Girl

There is a rumor going on at Japanese Schools. It's said that at midnight one can access a webpage called Jigoku Tsushi (Hell mail). On this webpage, if the name of a person who you want to take revenge on is written, Jigoku Shojo appears and sends this person to hell. However, the person who writes other´s name on Jigoku Tsushi will be sent to hell when he/she dies too. Basically, the anime series is a collection of independent stories. Each one tells a story of the suffering of an individual or group of individuals, the covenant with Jigoku Shojo and the aggressor´s punishment by her. Each story is told from the beggining of the harassment, passing through the unbearable anguish suffered by the victims, then finishing up with the protagonist requiering the help from the Hell Girl.

School Rumble

School Rumble tells about the daily lives of the students of a fictious Highschool called Yagami. The series is a romatic comedy with some very exaggerated scenes. Tenma Tsukamoto, a sophomore, is the female main character. She has a crush on an eccentric guy called Ooji Karasuma. Tenma doesn’t know how to confess her love to him. She will try the most surrealistic and absurd ideas in order to confess her love to Karasuma. The story gets even more complex with Kenji Harima, the male main character. Harima is a delinquent who is in love with Tenma, but he, as Tenma does, has the same problems to confess his love to her. The attempts of the two main character to try to confess their love to the people they have a crush on, create really hilarious situations.

As the story progresses, Harima and Tenma become very good friends. Eri Sawachika, one of Tenma’s best friends, developes an attraction to Harima. This is as a result of many embarassing situations in which they get involved. Also, Harima develops an affectionate relation with Tenma’s younger sister,Yakumo Tsukamoto, who along the story helps him draw his manga. As the story carries on, Harima helps Tenma improve her relationship with Karasuma but also, Harima’s relationships with Yakumo and Eri get more serious. This story contain lots of humor, pretty girls, romance, fanservice ...In short, it is a must-see to everyone out there who enjoys good anime.

Johnny the Homicidal Maniac

Created by Jhonen Vasquez (Invader Zim) this comic book tells the story of a serial killer called Johnny "Nny" C., who elaborately slaughters everyone who pisses him off. After that, Johnny drains the blood of his victims and uses it to paint over a wall in his house to prevent a monster from escaping. That sounds damn crazy, doesn't it??; and, that is exactly what you will find in this comic, pure insanity. The way it mixes comedy, violence and twisted-psychological stuff, makes it a unique piece of dark comedy.

Detroit Metal City

Detroit Metal City is a manga published by the magazine Young Animal since 2005. In 2008 ,13 animated episodes that were about 13 minutes long each were produced. DMC also has a 104 minute long movie in which Gene Simmons participates.

The anime is about Shoiji Negishi, a timid singer who came to Tokyo from the countryside wishing to become a pop singer. But for several reasons, he ends up playing in a Death Metal Band that becomes a huge success. On scene, Shoiji wears an outlandish outfit so that his identity remains unknown. His artistic name is Johannes Krauser II according to the rumors (made up by fans) he is a demon from hell who killed his parents and after that, committed several other crimes.

What is amusing about it is that Shoiji doesn´t like Death Metal at all nor did he like its philosophy (songs that incite crimes to be commited, death, diabolic rites, etc). He still wishes to become a pop artist and sings happy and romantic songs. Unfortunately, he performs his role as Johannes Krauser II so well that he can’t quit DMC.

Sundome

The “Roman Club,” a school group interested in the occult, to which he’s practically enslaved, has become boring for one Hideo Aiba. Until a girl named Kurumi Sahana shows up and wants to join up. But Sahana is no ordinary girl… When the two are left alone in the club classroom, Kurumi makes a special “request” of Hideo… From that moment on, Hideo’s dull life gets far more…frustrating. Sundome literally means "stopping the moment before," and considering the content of the story, it refers to being stopped just before cumming or ejaculating.

Plamoo animations and Marvel vs. DC

While Surfing on the internet, I bumped into two outstanding works of stop motion animation. One of which is made by a Japanese company? group? guy or girl??(I really don't know) called Plamoo. They use figures of popular anime characters in their animations.

The other one is maybe not as impressive as plamoo animations but it sure is hilarious. I'm talking about Marvel versus DC stop motion animation. As its name says, they use Marvel and DC action figures to create their comedy sketches.

You can watch more Plamoo and Marvel versus DC animations in this video section of this blog.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Created by Japanese Mangaka Nagaru Tanigawa and illustrated by Noizi Ito, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is about Highschooler Haruhi Suzumiya's life and those who are involved in her crazy adventures. Haruhi Suzumiya´s light novels first appeared in a Seinen magazine called The Sneaker. So famous were Haruhi´s novels that they were later published in various other sources. Two manga series were created but the first one was discontinued shortly after it started its production. The second one is still on-going. The anime that has the title of the first novel, incorporates elements of its novel and manga versions. Currently, a second anime season is airing. This new season has gained notoriety because it has eight, almost identical, episodes. This arc was named "The Endless Eight". This fact drove the thousands of avid Haruhi fans nuts (Although i'm not a hardcore Haruhi fan, it sure did drive me crazy as well).Well, let's start from the beginning.

Plot
Haruhi Suzumiya has always been a mysterious girl since she was in middle school. Now that she is in highschool she doesn't seem to get along with anybody.Kyon, also a highschool freshman who is in the same classrom as Haruhi, notices her strange behaviour. For example, Kyon notices that Haruhi changes her hair style depending on the day of the week. On their first day at Highschool Haruhi's homeroom teacher asked her students to introduce themselves. When Haruhi's turn to introduce herself came, she went "I'm not interested in none of you, unless you are time travelers, aliens or espers." The whole classroom was more than surprised at such rare introduction. This also made Kyon even more curious about what Haruhi is really like. One day during lunch break Kyon decides to approach Haruhi and starts chatting with her. A club choosing event was taking place at Haruhi's and Kyon's Highschool. Then, Kyon sat next to Haruhi and asked her what club she was going to join. She said that she finds all the clubs boring. Kyon said that he also wasn't sure what club to join. "I guess I will have to form my own club," said Kyon. I bet Kyon wished he hadnt said that..Then, Haruhi said to Kyon that she will form her own club. Suddenly, she took Kyon by his tie and left the classroom.Kyon didn't know what was going on. "What is this girl girl thinking ?" asked Kyon to himself. What Haruhi was about to do is to form her own highschool club. It would be known as the S.O.S Brigade. This club would be focusing on investigating and solving paranormal events. Kyon joins Haruhi's club against his will since he thought it was a silly idea. At the beggining, Kyon only joins Haruhi´s club to prevent "defenseless victims" from joining it by force. But as the story progresses we will get to know that these "defenless victims" have a reason for joining Haruhi's club.
