Mafalda is a comic created by Argentine author Quino. It was published from 1964 to 1973. This comic is starred by a girl called Mafalda who is described as a "mirror of the middle class and the latin american progressive youth". In the comic, she is often seen worried about humanity and world peace-Also she rebels against the world that the adults have passed down to the new generations. Mafalda has been translated into more than 30 languages. It is very popular in Latin America, Spain, Italy, France and other european countries.
In the beggining of the comic Mafalda is six years old, later on, she enrolls in kindergarten. Mafalda likes the Beatles and Woody Woodpecker, she also enjoys playing with her friends in the park. Her favorite food is pancakes and she hates eating soup. Apparently, in the 10 years that the comic lasted, she passes to the third or fourth grade at elementary school. She was born on march 15, 1962 according to Quino but her birthday is usually celebrated the day when the first Mafalda comic book was released, on September 29,1964.
