Topo Gigio is a marionette of a little Italian mouse that starred a popular TV show for children. It was created by Mario Perego in 1958. Its first televised appearance was in 1959 on the Italian TV show Canzonissima. Actor Peppino Mazullo was Topo Gigio's voice. On its shows, Topo Gigio talked with its human counterpart Raúl Astor. It also told tales and sang songs that became very popular such as:
"A la camita" (Let's go to bed)
"En un bosque de la China" (In a forest of China)
"¡Lo dije yo primero,lo dije yo primero!" (I said it first)
"Quiero ser como mi papá" (I want to be like my father)

It is a peaceful mouse.
It prays before going to bed. Sometimes it prays to "San Pepinno".
It is an avid fan of Brigitte Bardot
When Topo Gigio first appeared on TV, its shows were in black and white. Later on, its TV programs were broadcasted in color. Topo Gigio's TV shows have been released on DVD.
